'P' starts business with Rs.4500, and after 3 months 'Q' joins with P as his, partner. After a year the profit is divided in the ratio 3:4. What is 'Q's contribution in the capital?
Let us assume that Q invested X amount for a tenure of 9 months and P invested 4500 for 12 months.
The ratio in which P and Q will get profits = 4500 * 12 : X * 9 = 6000 : X.
This ratio is equal to 3:4.
==> $$\frac{6000}{X}=\frac{3}{4}$$
==> X = Rs. 8000.
