Question 59

Find the ratio in which a shopkeeper mixed two types of rice of cost 32/- per kg and 38/- per kg, if he sold the mixed rice for 42/- per kg at 20% profit ?

Let the ratio = m:n

Let CP of the mixture per kg = k

(1.2)k = SP = 42

k = 42/1.2 = 35/-

32(m)+38(n) = (35)(m+n)

32m+38n = 35m+35n

3m = 3n

m/n = 1

Hence the ratio is m:n = 1:1

So the answer is option C.
