A man walks at a certain speed and reaches his destination which is 6 km away in 1hr 40 minutes. If he runs the same distance in 1 hour 20 minutes, what is the difference in speed?

Solution

He covers 6 km in 1hr 40 min or 1.66hr

So,his speed was=(6/1.66)km/hr=3.61km/hr.

But he returned 6 km in 1 hr 20 min or 1.33 hr.

So,his return journey speed was

(6/1.33) km/hr=4.51km/hr.

So, difference between the two speed was

=(4.51-3.61)km/hr= 0.90km/hr.

B is correct choice.
