The mean of 25 observations = 40
The sum of 25 observations = 40×25
= 1000
If the observation 50 was wrongly
copied as 25 then
correct observation = 50 - 25
= 25
Sum of correct observations = 1000+25
= 1025
Correct mean = $$\frac{1025}{25}$$
= 41
Therefore ,
Correct mean = 41
