The royalty amount is distributed among X and in the ratio 5 : 3. The given Bar Graph presents the number of copies of the book sold in India (A) and abroad (B) during 2012-16.

What is the total amount of royalty paid (in ₹) to the authors during the years 2012, 2013 and 2016?

Solution

Royalities in India in 2012=$$250\times800\times\frac{10}{100}=20000$$

Royalities in Abroad in 2012=$$400\times1000\times\frac{16}{100}=64000$$

Royalities in India in 2013=$$300\times800\times\frac{10}{100}=24000$$

Royalities in Abroad in 2013=$$500\times1000\times\frac{16}{100}=80000$$

Royalities in India in 2016=$$400\times800\times\frac{10}{100}=32000$$

Royalities in Abroad in 2016=$$600\times1000\times\frac{16}{100}=96000$$

Total amount of royalty paid to the authors during the years 2012, 2013 and 2016 =20000+64000+24000+80000+32000+96000 = Rs 316000
