The cost price of 8 chairs is same as that of 5 tables. The total cost of 6 chairs and 2 tables is Rs. 3680. Find the cost of 6 tables.

Solution

Let CP of 1 chair = Rs. $$x$$

and CP of 1 table = Rs. $$y$$

Now, $$8x = 5y$$

and $$6x + 2y = 3680$$

Solving above equations, we get

$$x = 400$$ and $$y = 640$$

$$\therefore$$ Cost of 6 tables = 6*640 = Rs. 3840
