Question 48

A bag contains 2 red marbles, 3 green marbles and 4 blue marbles. A marble is picked at random from the bag. What is the probability that the marble is not a blue marble ?

Solution

Without blue marbles, there are 2 red marbles and 3 green marbles.
Therefore, there are 5 marbles in all to choose the required 1 from.
Probability that the marble is ot a blue marble = 5C1/ 9C1
                                                                                   = $$\frac{5}{9}$$
Therefore, the correct option is option  B.
