Question 45

Statements:
All scientists are hard-working. No hard-working man is poor.

Conclusions:
I. No scientist is poor
II. No poor man is a scientist.

Solution

No scientist can be poor because they are all hardworking.
Also, a poor person cannot be a scientist because that would imply that the person has to be hard working, and if hard working then that person becomes rich. This is a contradiction and hence, no poor man is a scientist.
