Question 45

In a certain code language, ‘LIP’ is written as ‘40’, ‘GILT’ is written as ‘51’. What is the code for ‘ROPE’ in that code language?

Solution

As per english alphabets, for LIP, L=12; I=9; P=16, to the sum of these values add 3.

i.e., 12+9+16 = 37

37 + 3 = 40.

for GILT, G = 7; I = 9; L = 12; T = 20

7+9+12+20 = 48

48 + 3 = 51

In the same way for ROPE, R = 18; O = 15; P=16; E=5.

18+15+16+5 = 54

54 + 3 = 57.

Therefore the answer is 57.
