A sum of ₹ 69 was divided between Jason and Ruhana in the ratio 1 : 2. How much money did Ruhana get?

Solution

Let x be the constant ratio:

Ratio : Jason : Ruhana = 1x : 2x

Solve x:

x + 2x = 69

3x =69

x = 23

Find the shares:

Jason = x = Rs 23

Ruhana = 2x = 2(23) = Rs 46
