The sum of two numbers is 22. Five times of one number is equal to 6 times the other. Find the larger of the two numbers.

Solution

let the no. be P ,Q

P + Q = 22 (1)

ATQ

5P = 6Q (2)

put (1) in (2)

5(22-Q) = 6Q

Q = 10

so

P = 12
