In a class of 40 students, 28 can speak Tamil and 30 can speak Telugu.

Solution
Let x students can speak both Tamil and Telugu.
So, only Tamil = 28 - x
Only Telugu = 30 - x
According to the question,
(28 - x) + (30 - x) + x = 40
58 -x = 40
x = 18
Hence,12 students speak only Telugu.
