Question 41

What are the co-ordinates of the centroid of a triangle, whose vertices are A(2 , 5), B(-4 , 0) and C(5 , 4)?

Solution

centroid = $$(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}+x_{3}}{3} , \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}+y_{3}}{3})$$ = $$(\frac{2-4+5}{3} , \frac{5+0+4}{3})$$ = $$(1 , 3)$$

so the answer is option B.
