Question 39

In a family, Virendra's weight is more than Parminder's weight. Parminder's weight is less than Kuldeep's weight but more than Gurjeet's weight. The sum of Kuldeep's weight and Tommy's weight is equal to the weight of Virendra. Who is the heaviest in the family?

Let weights of Virendra, Parminder, Kuldeep, Gurjeet and Tommy be respectively represented as $$V,P,K,G,T$$

Virendra's weight is more than Parminder's weight, => V > P

Parminder's weight is less than Kuldeep's weight but more than Gurjeet's weight, => K > P > G

The sum of Kuldeep's weight and Tommy's weight is equal to the weight of Virendra, => K + T = V

=> Virendra's weight is more than Kuldeep and Tony's wight individually.

Thus, combining above statements, we get : $$V>K>P>G$$

$$\therefore$$ Virendra is the heaviest in the family.

=> Ans - (A)
