The bar chart represents percentage marks scored by four students U, V, W and X in History and Geography. Consider the bar chart and answer questions based on it.

What is the percentage difference in the total marks obtained in Geography and History?
Solution
Marks obtained in History by U,V,W,X is 75,63,80,72 respectively.
So, total marks obtained by them=75+63+80+72=290.
So, percentage of marks obtained by them=(290/400)100=72.5.
Total marks obtained in Geography=312.
So,percentage of marks obtained=(312/400)100=78.
Their difference=78-72.5=5.5%
