On the basis of data given above, predict which of the following gases shows the least adsorption on a definite amount of charcoal?

Critical temperature (Tc) is the highest temperature at which a substance can exist as a liquid.

  • High Critical Temperature: Indicates strong intermolecular attractive forces. The gas is easily liquefied and therefore undergoes more adsorption.
  • Low Critical Temperature: Indicates weak intermolecular attractive forces. The gas is difficult to liquefy and therefore undergoes less adsorption.
