Which two signs need to be interchanged to make the following equation correct?
$$14 \times 16 \div 8 + 2 - 1 = 17$$

Solution

$$ 14 + 16 \div 8 \times 2 - 1 = 17 $$

$$ 14 + 2 \times 2 - 1 = 17 $$

$$ 18 - 1 = 17 $$

By options (a) andĀ (c), we will get 3 digit number which is not possible.

By option (d), we will get 14 which will not satisfy the given euqation.

Hence option (b) is the correct answer.
