(i) Aweighs twice as much as B
(ii) Bweighs four and a half times as much as C
(iii) C weighs half as much as D
(iv) D weighs half as much as E
(v) E weighs less than A but more than C

Which of the following is the lightest in weight?

Solution

Let weight of C be c units.
From (iii), we can say that d = 2c and from (iv), we can say e = 2d = 4c
From (ii), b = 4.5c and from (i), a = 2b = 9c
Hence, the order from heaviest to lightest can be given as A, B, E, D, C
