According to question,
$$AB^2+BC^2=AC^2.$$
or, $$5^2+BC^2=AC^2.$$
or, $$AC^2-BC^2=25.$$
So, if AC-BC=6.5 the, AC+BC=3.84 which violates the rule of triangle.
