Find the missing number in the following series.
28, 60, 90, 117, (…), 158

Solution

28, 60, 90, 117,........., 158

the series follows as =60-28 = 32

90-60 = 30

117 - 90 = 27 (successive subtraction of 2 , 3 , 4....going on )

therefore , x - 23 = 117 (as after 27 , we need to subtract 4 from it which will give 23 )

x = 140
