Question 24

Arjun, Bharath and Chandru played a cricket match. The ratio of runs scored by Arjun and Bharath is 1 : 2 and the ratio of runs scored by Bharath and Chandru is 3 : 4. If together they score 204 runs, how many runs has Chandru made more than Arjun?

Solution

Arjun:Bharath= 1:2=3:6.

Bharath:Chandru= 3:4=6:8.

So, Arjun:Bharath:Chandru=3:6:8.

Let, say they made 3x, 6x and 8x runs.

So,

$$(3x+6x+8x)=204$$.

or, 17x=204.

or, x=12.

So, Arjun made= 36 runs and Chandru made =96 runs.

Difference of their runs= 96-36=60 runs.

B is correct choice.
