Let us assume the original fraction to be P/1.
Numerator increased by 15% and denominator decreased by 8%
==> $$\frac{P\times\ 1.15}{1\times\ 0.92}=\frac{15}{16}$$
==> $$P\times\ \frac{5}{4}=\frac{15}{16}$$
P = $$\frac{3}{4}$$
