The positions of the first and fourth letters of the word ‘ABSENT are interchanged. similarly the positions of the second and fifth letters and third and sixth letters are interchanged. In the new arrangement thus formed, how many letters are there between the letter which is third from the right and the letter which is first from the left, in the English alphabetical order ?

Solution

Word = 'ABSENT'

Interchanging 1st and 4th letters, 2nd and 5th letters and so on, we get = 'ENTABS'

Thus, there are three alphabetical letters between 'E' and 'A' = B,C,D
