Karan travels 20 km towards the south, and then takes a left, and travels 35 km further. Again, he takes a left and travels 20 km further. How far is he from his original position?

Solution

Let Karan start from point A and travels 20 km towards the south to reach B, and then takes a left, and travels 35 km to reach C. Again, he takes a left and travels 20 km northwards and finally stop at point D.

Thus, he is 35 km from his original position.
