Car X and Y start at the same time at speeds of 12 kmph and 16 kmph. Find the distance between them after 3 minutes.
Solution
Let speed be s , time be t and distance be d
s of X = 12km/h = $$\frac{12}{60}1000$$= 200 $$\frac{m}{min}$$
s of Y = 16km/h = $$\frac{16}{60}1000$$ = $$\frac{80}{3}\frac{m}{min}$$
if t = 3 min then d of X =$$200\times 3$$ = 600 m
Y = $$\frac{800}{3}\times 3$$ = 800m
distance between them = Y -- X = 800m - 600m = 200m
