Question 2

Calculate the value of $$\frac{\sqrt{3}}{(3+\sqrt{3})}$$ if $$\sqrt{3}=1.7320$$

Solution

Expression : $$\frac{\sqrt{3}}{(3+\sqrt{3})}$$ if $$\sqrt{3}=1.7320$$

Rationalizing the denominator :

= $$\frac{\sqrt{3}}{(3+\sqrt{3})}\times\frac{(3-\sqrt3)}{(3-\sqrt3)}$$

= $$\frac{\sqrt3(3-\sqrt3)}{(3)^2-(\sqrt3)^2}=\frac{3\sqrt3-3}{9-3}$$

= $$\frac{\sqrt3-1}{2}=\frac{(1.7320-1)}{2}$$

= $$\frac{0.7320}{2}=0.366$$

=> Ans - (A)
