Question 190

Out of the fractions $$\frac{6}{11}, \frac{13}{23}, \frac{15}{29}, \frac{3}{7}, \frac{4}{13},$$ the third lowest fraction ?

Solution

Out of $$\frac{6}{11}, \frac{13}{23}, \frac{15}{29}, \frac{3}{7}, \frac{4}{13}$$

$$\frac{6}{11}$$ = 0.54545

$$\frac{13}{23}$$ = 0.565

$$\frac{15}{29}$$ = 0.52

$$\frac{3}{7}$$ = 0.43

$$\frac{4}{13}$$ = 0.31

Clearly 4/13 < 3/7 < 15/29 < 6/11 < 13/23

Hence 15/29 is the 3rd lowest.
