In an n-p-n common emitter (CE) transistor the collector current changes from $$5$$ mA to $$16$$ mA for the change in base current from $$100 \ \mu$$A and $$200 \ \mu$$A, respectively. The current gain of transistor is _____.
$$\Delta I_c = 16\text{ mA} - 5\text{ mA} = 11\text{ mA} = 11 \times 10^{-3}\text{ A}$$
$$\Delta I_b = 200\text{ }\mu\text{A} - 100\text{ }\mu\text{A} = 100\text{ }\mu\text{A} = 100 \times 10^{-6}\text{ A}$$
$$\beta_{ac} = \frac{\Delta I_c}{\Delta I_b}$$
$$\beta_{ac} = \frac{11 \times 10^{-3}}{100 \times 10^{-6}}$$
$$\beta_{ac} = \frac{11}{100 \times 10^{-3}} = \frac{11}{0.1} = 110$$
