Find two consecutive numbers where thrice the first number is more than twice the second number by 5.

Solution

Let the consecutive numbers be x and (x + 1)

According to the question,

3x - 2(x + 1) = 5

3x - 2x - 2 = 5

x = 7.

So, two consecutive numbers is 7 and 8.
