Question 19

Find the LCM of $$\frac{36}{225}$$, $$\frac{48}{150}$$ and $$\frac{72}{85}$$?

Solution

$$LCM\ of\ \frac{36}{225},\frac{48}{150}and\frac{72}{85}\ =\frac{LCM\ of\ \left(36,48,72\right)}{HCF\left(225,150,85\right)}.$$

$$36=2^2\times3^2,\ 48=2^4\times3,\ 72=2^3\times3^2.$$

So, $$LCM\ of\ \left(36,48,72\right)=2^4\times3^2=144.$$

And, $$225=5^2\times3^2,\ 150=5^2\times2\times3,\ 85=17\times5.$$

So, $$HCF\ of\ \left(225,150,85\right)=5.$$

So , required LCM=$$\frac{144}{5}.$$

A is correct choice.
