Ram and Ravi start together from a point in opposite direction on scooters. Ram’s speed is 21 km/h and Ravi’s speed is 15 km/h. What will be the distance between them after 20 minutes ?

Solution

Ram and Ravi are moving in opposite direction .

Speed of Ram = 21 km/hr

Speed of Ravi = 15 km/hr

Relative speed = 21 + 15 = 36 km/hr

Time = 20 min = $$\frac{1}{3}$$ hour

using Distance = Speed x Time

Distance = 36 x $$\frac{1}{3}$$ = 12 km
