He travelled the next 250 km by train and purchased a ticket of 50. Rest of the journey was performed by boat at 2 per km. What is the average cost of his journey per km ?

Total distance travelled by Anil = 900 km

Distance travelled by taxi = 350 at Rs 4/km

=> Total cost in taxi = 350*4 = Rs 1400

Distance travelled by bus = 250 at Rs 70

=> Total cost in bus = Rs 70

Distance travelled by train = 250 at Rs 50

=> Total cost in train = Rs 50

Distance travelled by boat = 900-(350+250+250) = 50 km at Rs 2/km

=> Total cost in boat = 50*2 = Rs 100

Now total cost incurred by Anil = 1400+70+50+100 = Rs 1,620

=> Average cost = $$\frac{1620}{900}$$ = Rs 1.80
