The sum of five consecutive odd numbers is equal to 245. What is the difference between twice the largest odd number and the smallest odd number ?
Solution
Let the five consecutive odd numbers be m,m+2,m+4,m+6 and m+8 respectively
According to given condition
m+m+2+m+4+m+6+m+8 =245
5m +20 =245
5m =225
m =45
Smallest odd number = 45
Largest odd number = 53
Required Difference = 106 - 45 =61
