Solution

Numbers = 489 , 541 , 654 , 953 , 783

If five is subtracted from each of the numbers,

=> New numbers = 484 , 536 , 649 , 948 , 778

2nd digit of second highest number = 778

2nd digit of highest number = 948

$$\therefore$$ Difference = 7 - 4 = 3
