When 33.75 is subtracted from the three-fifth of a number, it is equal to 45% of the same number. What is one third of the number ?
Solution
Let the number = $$x$$
Acc to ques,
=> $$\frac{3x}{5} - 33.75 = \frac{45}{100} x$$
=> $$\frac{3x}{5} - \frac{9x}{20} = 33.75$$
=> $$\frac{3x}{20} = 33.75$$
=> $$x = \frac{33.75 \times 20}{3} = 225$$
$$\therefore$$ One-third of the number = $$\frac{1}{3} \times 225$$
= 75
