Question 17

If polynomial P(x) = $$x^3 - 3x^2 + 5x - 3$$ is divided by polynomial G(x) = $$x^2 - 2$$, the quotient and remainder are:

Solution

P(x) = $$x^3 - 3x^2 + 5x - 3$$
G(x) = $$x^2 - 2$$

Therefore, Quotient = x - 3 and Remainder = 7x - 9.
