India's Five-Year Plans were comprehensive programs aimed at economic development. From 1951 to 2014, these plans were created, executed, and monitored by the Planning Commission. In 2015, the Planning Commission was replaced by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), which took over the role of overseeing such initiatives.
