Question 160

The area of a circle is computed by multiplying the square of its radius by 22/7. What will be the total area of 14 circles, each with the same radius of ‘r’ cms. ?
(A) 22 * r *7 * r # 14
(B) 22 # 14 * r * r
(C) 44*r*r # 7

Solution

Total area of 14 circles, each with the same radius of ‘r’ cms = $$14\times\frac{22}{7} r^2$$

(A) : 22 * r *7 * r # 14

=> $$22\times r\times7\times r\div14=\frac{154r^2}{14}=11r^2$$

(B) : 22 # 14 * r * r

=> $$22\div14\times r\times r=\frac{11r^2}{7}$$

(C) : 44*r*r # 7

=> $$44\times r\times r\div7=\frac{44r^2}{7}$$

Thus, none of the statements is correct.

=> Ans - (E)
