P can make a table in 16 days while Q can make it in 20 days. Q started the work and did that work for 5 days. In how many days P can complete the remaining work?
Let total number of work done = L.C.M. (16,20) = 80 units
P can make the table in 16 days, => P's efficiency = $$\frac{80}{16}=5$$ units/day
Q's efficiency = $$\frac{80}{20}=4$$ units/day
Now, Q worked alone for 5 days, => Work completed by Q = $$5\times4=20$$ units
Thus, work left = $$80-20=60$$ units
$$\therefore$$ Time taken by P to complete the remaining work = $$\frac{60}{5}=12$$ days
