Question 15

Four sentences are given below. These sentences, when rearranged in proper order, form a logical and meaningful paragraph. Rearrange the sentences and choose the correct order as the answer.
A. One of the most prominent and romantic characters in the history of the Oriental world is Cyrus the Great.
B. The territory over which Cyrus bore rule extended nearly three thousand miles from east to west, and fifteen hundred miles from north to south.
C. He was the founder and organizer of the greatest empire the world has seen.
D. Even with such a big empire, it is a matter of regret that so little is really known of the Persian hero, both in the matter of events and also of exact dates.

On carefully reading the sentences we see that the topic of the discussion is about Persian king Cyrus and how little is known about him. Thus, sentence A which introduces the topic must be the first sentence. Sentence C gives further details about him and thus must follow immediately after A. Sentence B substantiates the claim why Cyrus had the greatest empire as said in C. Thus B follows logically after C. Sentence D concludes the paragraph by stating that very little is know about the Persian king Cyrus.
Hence, the correct order of the sentence is ACBD.
Hence, option A is the right answer.
