The length of a rectangle is twice that of its breadth. If its perimeter is 360 cm, calculate its area.

Solution

l = 2b

Perimeter P = 2 (l + b) = 360 cms.

2 (2b + b) = 360 cms

b = 60 cms

l = 120 cms

Area = 120 * 60 = 7200 sq. cms
