Question 147

The area of a rectangle is 1209 square meters. Its length measures 39 meters. How much is its perimeter?

Solution

Area of rectangle = $$1209 m^2$$

$$l = 39 m$$

=> Breadth = $$\frac{Area}{Length} = \frac{1209}{39} = 31 m$$

$$\therefore$$ Perimeter of rectangle = $$2 (l + b)$$

= $$2 (39 + 31)$$

= $$2 \times 70 = 140 m$$
