In the following number series, a wrong number is given. Find out that wrong number.

Solution

The pattern here followed is :

16 $$\times \frac{1}{4}$$ = 4

4 $$\times \frac{2}{4}$$ = 2

2 $$\times \frac{3}{4}$$ = 1.5

1.5 $$\times \frac{4}{4}$$ = 1.5

1.5 $$\times \frac{5}{4}$$ = 1.875

Clearly 1.75 should be replaced by 1.5
