Solution

Expression : $$42.07 \times 7.998 + (?)^{2} = 20^2$$

=> $$(42 \times 8) + (?)^2 = 20^2$$

=> $$?^2 = 400 - 336 = 64$$

=> $$? = \sqrt{64} = 8$$
