%$$profit=\frac{Income - Expenditure}{Expenditure}\times100$$

Question 127

If the Income of Company A in 2002 was Rs. 600 crores. what was its Expenditure ?

Solution

Income of company A in 2002 = Rs. 600 crores

Profit % of company A in 2002 = 60 %

Let expenditure of company A in 2002 = Rs. $$x$$

=> $$\frac{600 - x}{x} \times 100 = 60$$

=> $$\frac{600 - x}{x} = \frac{60}{100} = \frac{3}{5}$$

=> $$5 \times (600 - x) = 3 \times x$$

=> $$3000 - 5x = 3x$$

=> $$5x + 3x = 8x = 3000$$

=> $$x = \frac{3000}{8} = Rs. 375$$ crores
