Solution

Marks obtained by Amit in science = 74

Marks obtained by Amit in maths = 90

=> Required % decrease = $$\frac{90 - 74}{90} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{16}{9} \times 10 = 17.77 \%$$

$$\approx 18 \%$$
