it is given that mean of 19 observations is 24

mean = $$\frac{Sum}{Numberof Elements}$$

24 = $$\frac{Sum}{19}$$

Sum = 456

It is given that mean of the first 10 observations is 17 and that of the last 10 observations is 24

Sum of first 10 terms = 17 x 10 = 170

Sum of last 10 terms = 24 x 10 = 240

10th term = (170 + 240 )- 456

= - 46
