Question 121

If $$x + \frac{1}{x} = 12 $$, the value of $$x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2}$$ is

Solution

it is given that $$x + \frac{1}{x}$$ = 12

we need to find value of $$x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2}$$

$$x^2 + \frac{1}{x^2}$$ = $$(x + \frac{1}{x})^2$$ - 2

= $$12^2 - 2$$ = 142
