Question 119

If (a + b + c) = 0, then $$(\frac{a^2}{bc} + \frac{b^2}{ca} + \frac{c^2}{ab})$$

Solution

It is given that $$a + b + c = 0$$

Let $$a = 1 , b = 1$$ and $$c = -2$$ [We can take any values that satisfy above equation]

To find : $$(\frac{a^2}{bc} + \frac{b^2}{ca} + \frac{c^2}{ab})$$

= $$\frac{1^2}{1 * -2} + \frac{1^2}{1 * -2} + \frac{-2^2}{1 * 1}$$

= $$\frac{-1}{2} - \frac{1}{2} + 4$$

= $$-1 + 4 = 3$$
