Solution

in order to find out remainder when f(x) = $$12x^{3} - 13x^{2} - 5x + 7$$ is divided by (3x + 2)

we will use remainder theorem , according to which f(-$$\frac{2}{3}$$) will give the remainder

So, f(-$$\frac{2}{3}$$) = $$12(-2/3)^{3} - 13(-2/3)^{2} - 5(-2/3) + 7$$ = 1

remainder = 1
